Last night, there was still heavy menstrual bleed, but became less in the morning and toward the afternoon. There is some improvement in lung function. The oxygen saturation is maintained at 96 to 100% on nasal tube. The liver became less tender compared to yesterday and the serum creatinine is slightly decreased. The consultant said that the progression of veno-occlusive disease has been stopped by a medication, and hopefully there will be some improvement in few days time. But, we are expected to see increment in the serum bilirubin before it goes down.
She had a lot of fluid retention in the third space i.e abdominal cavity (ascites) causing abdominal distention. The Hb was very low, and had another transfusion of 2 pints packed red blood cell and platelet.
According to consultant in-charge (Dr Lim), she can be transfered back to ward 48 if the condition is stable. She is allowed to take orally, but still given parenteral nutrition.
In the evening, she felt more breathless and oxygen saturation was dropping. She was put on mask with 30% oxygen and the oxygen saturation getting better.
